Twice voted team MVP, Don Lisbon led the team in rushing twice during his career. Playing fullback as a sophomore in a backfield that featured senior Bernie Casey, Lisbon carried the ball 99 times for 605 yards, his 6.1 yards per carry average is second only to Fred Durig in BG history. The UPI named him to the All-Ohio second team for his efforts. As a senior, he again led the team in rushing, finishing his career with 1,215 yards, and a 5.1 career average, again right behind Durig. Lisbon was drafted in the third round by San Francisco, scoring three touchdowns in 20 games over two years with the 49ers.

He was inducted to the BG Athletic Hall of Fame in 1980.
