1930 BGSU Football - BGSU Athletic Archives
Front Row (L to R): Croll, Obenour, Brigham, Willeman, Thornton, Lowell, Perry, Kennemuth, Swearingen, Floyd, Dryer -- Second Row: W. Chapman, Robb, Conyers, Gill, D. Stevenson, Schaller, Mitchell, Poe, Calanka, Ault, Orwick, Mower -- Back Row: Coach Steller, C. Stevenson, Miller, Travis, Bortel, Grey, Scheffer, Thourot, Traub, Clapp, Chapman, Marsh, Asst. Coach Landis

If it weren't for Coach Warren Steller's 1928 team, which finished the year 5-0-2, only allowing 18 points in seven games and shutting out each opponent in its five wins, the 1930 team could easily be considered the best team in the first quarter century of Falcon football.

Led by four all-conference first teamers, including All-Ohio captain Chet Chapman and a junior quarterback named Doyt Perry, the Falcons gave up no more than 7 point to any single opponent, finishing the season with a 6-0-2 record. The only "blemishes" on the year came in back to back ties at Findlay and home against Toledo.
