Jay Cunningham Print E-mail
A 1965 graduate of the university, Jay Cunningham led the Falcons in rushing his junior year, racking up 539 yards on 128 carries, including a career-best 101 yard game against Detroit on September 21, 1963. The Youngstown South grad also led the 1963 Falcons in interceptions and punt returns. He was named to the second team All-MAC in 1962, and to the first team the following two years, adding the team MVP award his senior season. A versatile back, Cunningham also led the Falcons in receiving in 1962 and 1964. He was drafted by Boston of the AFL in the 13th round of the 1965 NFL Draft, playing professionally for three seasons.

He was inducted to the BG Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.
