Chester "Chet" Chapman was the first BG football player to win All-Ohio honors, achieving that feat in all three seasons he played at Bowling Green. He was a key component to the 1928 team that completed the school's first undefeated season (5-0-2), earning All-NW Ohio Conference honors for the first of three seasons that year.
After Bowling Green, Chapman became BG's first professional football player before taking a coaching job at Davidson in 1935. He would later serve in World War II.
He was inducted to the BG Athletic Hall of Fame in 1965.
