Kenneth "Jack" Mollenkopf Print E-mail
While Jack Mollenkopf starred on the football and baseball teams at Bowling Green, he is most known for his work after graduation, away from the university. He coached high school football at Rossford and Waite high schools near Toledo, winning three state titles while at Waite. In 1947, he was hired as an assistant coach at Purdue, and became their head coach in 1955.

In 14 years as head coach of the Boilermakers, Mollenkopf compiled an 84-39-9 (.672) record, coaching future NFL stars Len Dawson and Bob Griese, among others. The Convoy, Ohio native remains the all-time winningest coach in Purdue football history. He an inaugural inductee to the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1970, and was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988.

He was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1965, and passed away on December 4, 1975 at the age of 70.
