Max Minnich Print E-mail
A two-time All-Ohio selection at halfback, Max Minnich put together one of the more impressive two-sided seasons in BG history in 1948. Not only did he lead the team in passing with 405 yards and nine touchdowns, he intercepted 12 passes in nine games. The Falcons started the season with eight straight wins, finishing the year at 8-0-1, with the only blemish a season-ending tie at home against John Carroll. His exploits made him an easy selection for team MVP.

Minnich became the first football player from Bowling Green to be drafted by the NFL when Los Angeles selected him in the 10th round of the 1949 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the basketball and track teams at BG.

He was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999, and is also a member of the Napoleon High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
